Warning! Spoilers for Batman: The Brave and the Bold #19!Wonder Womanhas officially debuted a new “secret identity” with the perfect name. Batman is a master of going undercover with his Matches Malone identity, and now, surprisingly, Wonder Woman has her own undercover identity that she can employ. While Wonder Woman is still likely to draw attention in any room she enters, she’s at least one step closer to hiding who she truly is.
Wonder Woman’snew undercover identity debuts in “Man’s Underworld, Part 1” by Dave Wielgosz, Nikola Čižmešija, Rex Lokus, and Steve Wands fromBatman: The Brave and the Bold#19. In this story, Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth has been stolen, and she must go undercover with Plastic Man to get it back. Not wanting to draw attention to herself,Diana comes up with the perfect alternate name: Cassandra Troy.

While infiltrating the auction that stole Wonder Woman’s lasso, Diana needs a name that won’t rouse suspicion. While she usually uses the name Diana Prince, that wouldn’t exactly work here, and being a giant woman, even the name Diana would be a giveaway. That’s when Wonder Woman comes up withthe perfect identity that honors her two sisters and Wonder Girls, Cassandra Sandsmark and Donna Troy.
Wonder Woman Perfectly Honors Her Two Sisters with the Name “Cassandra Troy”
Cassie Sandsmark and Donna Troy Are Essential to Wonder Woman History
The criminal underworld is a big place, and sometimesthe only way to get information that a hero needs is to go into this underworldand gather information.Batman has mastered this with the Matches Malone identity. If Batman needs information from criminals, instead of dangling them off a building, he simply puts on his Matches Malone disguise and pretends to be one of the criminals. It’s an incredibly useful tactic, one that both Tim Drake and Dick Grayson have learned from. Now it seems that Wonder Woman has done the same and come up with her own perfect identity.
Wonder Woman deciding to use a combination of their names together shows that the Wonder Girls are still close to her heart.

As an Amazon, Wonder Woman has plenty of sisters, such as Nubia and Artemis. But the two characters that she considers closer to her than anyone else have always been Donna Troy and Cassie Sandsmark, who both served as her Wonder Girls. These two women are Diana’s true sisters, whom she considers immediate family. While both of these characters played major roles in DC’s pre-New 52 stories, they have only regained traction in recent years, but Wonder Woman deciding to use a combination of their names together shows that the Wonder Girls are still close to her heart.
The Wonder Girls Will Always Be Wonder Woman’s True Sisters
Nothing Can Stop Their Love for Each Other
A lot of attention is always given to the Bat-Family and the Super-Family, but more fans need to pay attention to the Wonder-Family. Wonder Woman is a fantastic character and she has amazing supporting characters. Both Donna Troy and Cassie Sandsmark have had major stories and events in their lives that make them stand out apart from Diana. They’re all fantastic characters and deserve much more attention from DC, so it’s nice to see that, at the very least,Wonder Woman’snew undercover identity references the two most important people in her life.
