Evelyn is a powerful new Fire DPS agent forZenless Zone Zero, but where and how does she shine best? 1.5 has introduced two powerful new agents to the hit gacha title, the other being Astra Yao.Astra Yao and her best buildsmake for an extremely beneficial support unit with strong future potential. Her playstyle won’t be for everyone, but the benefits she brings outweigh any cons.
Evelyn herself is a DPS unit that wants to soak up as much field time as possible. Her kit largely plays around her Binding Seal state, which can be entered through most attacks. In this state, Evelyn will receive a 25% critical rate bonus and trigger follow-up attacks when switched out. This compliments her ultimate, putting her into the Dance of Awakened Fire state for the rest of the battle. This state makes it easier for her to gain stacks, stay in the Binding Seal state, and buff any future ultimates.
Best W-Engine For Evelyn In ZZZ
Flexible With A Clear Top Choice
Evelyn’s best W-Engine is her signature Heartstring Nocturne. At base, thisEngine inZenless Zone Zerogives her a 24% critical rate boost as a sub-stat and 50% more critical damage from the ability. The ability also generates a stack of Heartsting when using a chain or ultimate attack. These stacks will allow Evelyn to ignore a portion of the target’s Fire Resistance when attacking with a chain or ultimate attack. This is a perfect buff for her, as while she is an on-field DPS, these abilities are a large chunk of her burst damage.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.0: Should You Pull Ellen Or Zhu Yuan?
Zenless Zone Zero is brand new, but that doesn’t mean all its release patch units are built equally. Should players pull for Ellen or Zhu Yuan in ZZZ?
While not as strong, Evelyn can also use Zhu Yuan’s Riot Supressor Mark VI or Soldier 11’s The Brimstone. The former will just be a stat stick to help with critical stats, but it is still a good choice. The Brimstone won’t be as helpful for critical stats but will give a stacking attack boost when hitting basic attacks, which Evelyn will do frequently.
For A-Rank engines,Evelyn has a choice between three good options. Cannon Rotor will help boost her critical rate and attack while giving an extra boost to critical hits. Marcato Desire also gives a critical rate boost but will boost EX Special and Chain Attacks. Lastly, Street Superstar will give a solid attack boost and generate a stacking buff to boost Evelyn’s ultimate from teammates performing Chain Attacks.
Best Drive Discs For Evelyn In ZZZ
Two Choices Of Player Preference
Evelyn’s best drive disc options come down to two options.Inferno Metal to maximize her Fire Damage, or Woodpecker Electro to boost her attack. The ideal choice comes down to what Engine she is using. With her signature, Woodpecker would be better as she can often crit enough to benefit from the four-piece attack boost. Without her signature, Inferno Metal would be better as it would give a 28% critical rate boost when attacking a burning enemy. Whatever option is picked, the alternative should be used for the extra two-piece.
Like most DPS agents, Evelyn’s ideal stats and sub-stats are simple.Always look for critical stats, with Attack% being a close second. Besides that, the sub-stats can differ from how survivable a user prefers their characters to be. The main stats will depend on the Engine used, but will not vary too much.

Best Teams For Evelyn In ZZZ
Flexibility Is Key
Evelyn’s best teams will all revolve around characters who do not need much field time to be useful.Her premier team will include Lighter and Astra Yao.Lighter and his best buildis a great stun unit that doesn’t need much field time and can provide beneficial Fire buffs to his teammates and debuffs to enemies. Meanwhile, Astra Yao needs little to no field-time to be an amazing support while synergizing perfectly with Evelyn for attack buffs and frequent Chain Attacks.
Zenless Zone Zero: Best Lighter Build (W-Engine, Teams & Drive Discs)
With Lighter, the final member of the Sons of Calydon, joining Zenless Zone Zero, there are numerous ways of building this flexible Stun agent.
This same idea can work for other Evelyn teams but with less potential. Essentially,keeping a stun unit and then some support unit who can help trigger Evelyn’s passive. This all comes down to user preference, which will also decide the ideal Bangboo. The best thing to avoid with Evelyn is using two DPS units, as they will hamper each other.
Another idea for Evelyn is a pseudo-Fire anomaly team with Burnice and Lucy. Since Burnice doesn’t need field time, she is an excellent source of extra damage. She will also perfectly blend in while using the Inferno Metal set. Lucy or Caeser can be used in the last slot, but Lucy is the better option to help give Fire buffs and trigger Evelyn’s passive.
Overall, Evelyn may not be as game-breaking asMiyabi and her best builds, but she is strong nonetheless. She also fills a helpful role in a Fire DPS unit, where Soldier 11’s clunkier and inconsistent style can dishearten some. Evelyn also has a huge advantage in that she is a relatively easy build with her signature engine. This culminates in showing how a properly built Evelyn has excellent potential inZenless Zone Zero.
